C1, C2 and C3 are the USB-C ports, numbered from the end with the plug prongs; A is the USB-A port at the far end. *USB-C3 and USB-A share 5V/3A (15W) between them. USB-C1 holds 65W next to any one other port and with all four in use, so that is the port for a laptop.

About This Product

The SCIGOLD 100W is a four-port GaN wall charger for a desk, a nightstand or a bag. On its own, USB-C1 or USB-C2 delivers up to 100W, enough to fast-charge most USB-C laptops. With a laptop on USB-C1 and a phone on any other port, they share 65W + 30W, and with all four ports busy the charger still keeps 65W on USB-C1 for the laptop.

The USB-A port covers older cables and accessories. Input is 100–240V at 50/60Hz, so the charger works on any mains voltage.

Can it charge a laptop at the full 100W?

Yes, from USB-C1 or USB-C2 when that is the only port in use: both supply up to 20V/5A. A 100W charge needs a USB-C cable rated for 5A, such as the SCIGOLD 100W silicone or 240W braided cable. A standard 3A cable limits any charger to 60W.

How is the power shared when I plug in more than one device?

USB-C1 with USB-C2 or USB-C3 gives 65W + 30W, and USB-C1 or USB-C2 with USB-A gives 65W + 30W. USB-C3 and USB-A used together share 5V/3A. With all four ports in use, USB-C1 gets 65W, USB-C2 gets 18W, and USB-C3 and USB-A share 5V/3A. Keep your laptop on USB-C1: it holds 65W next to any one other device and with all four ports in use.

Which port is USB-C1?

The ports are numbered from the end with the plug prongs: USB-C1 is nearest the prongs, then USB-C2 and USB-C3, and the USB-A port is at the far end. Use USB-C1 for a laptop (it keeps 65W next to any other port and with all four in use), and USB-C2, USB-C3 or USB-A for smaller devices.

Will it fast-charge my phone?

Yes. Each USB-C port supplies 5V, 9V, 12V and 15V levels, the ones USB-C phones and tablets use to fast-charge. Phones with a USB-A cable can use the USB-A port; how fast they charge there depends on the phone.

100W or 150W: which one do I need?

Choose the 100W if you still charge something with a USB-A cable: it has three USB-C ports and one USB-A, with up to 100W from one port. Choose the SCIGOLD 150W for a laptop that charges at more than 100W over USB-C, for two laptops at once, or when every cable you own is USB-C.

Can I use it outside the US?

The input accepts 100–240V at 50/60Hz, so it works on any mains voltage. The plug is the US type with two flat prongs; in countries with a different outlet, use a simple plug adapter. No voltage converter is needed.

Can it power the SCIGOLD AA charging case?

Yes. Every port supplies 5V/3A, the input the CW505 and CW508 cases take (USB-C3 and USB-A share 5V/3A when both are in use). With the full 5V/3A, a case fills a full set of SCIGOLD AA cells in about 2.5 hours.
