Drop the cells into the charger

Place your SCIGOLD AA 1.5V Li-ion cells into the 4-slot Pocket Case (CW505) or the 8-slot Home Case (CW508), matching the + and − terminals shown in each slot.
Connect a 5V/3A USB-C source

Plug a USB-C cable into the case and connect it to a 5V/3A USB-C source — a phone wall charger, laptop USB-C port, GaN brick, power bank, or car charger. No proprietary adapter needed.
Watch the per-cell status display

The Pocket Case's LCD or the Home Case's per-slot LED shows each cell charging independently. A nearly empty cell and a half-full one each charge on their own and stop when full.
Done in about 2.5 hours

A full case of cells goes from empty to full in about 2.5 hours from a 5V/3A source. Charging stops automatically when each cell is full. Unplug the case once charging is done; the cells can stay in it for storage and travel.

Does the Pocket Case come with batteries?

No. The Pocket Case is sold on its own, with no AA cells included. It is meant for owners who already have SCIGOLD cells and want a second charger or a replacement. To get cells too, buy the 4-pack of cells separately or choose the AA Kit (4 cells + Pocket Case).

Why would I buy the Pocket Case by itself?

A standalone charger is for owners who already have SCIGOLD AA cells. Keep one Pocket Case on your desk and one in your bag so you never wonder whether you packed it. A second unit also lets you charge one set while you run another, and it is insurance against a lost or damaged charger. If you want one charger for the whole house, the 8-slot Home Case is the household hub.

How fast does the Pocket Case charge a full set of cells?

About 2.5 hours to take four cells from empty to full from a 5V/3A USB-C source. The case accepts USB-C input at 5V/3A and delivers under 450 mA per slot across its four independent slots. Each slot charges on its own, so you can top off one, two, three, or four cells at a time without waiting on the others.

What does the per-cell LCD on the Pocket Case show?

The LCD shows the status of each of the four slots: standby, charging (a 2W icon), FULL when the cell is done, or an error if a cell is faulty or not supported. The 2W icon only marks a slot that is charging; it is not a live power reading. The screen does not show a percentage or a time to full. It turns off about 5 minutes after charging finishes; open the lid or press the function button to wake it.

Which batteries are compatible with the Pocket Case?

The Pocket Case is made for SCIGOLD AA 1.5V Li-ion cells. It is not a NiMH or alkaline charger, so never put NiMH, alkaline or other non-rechargeable cells in it. If a slot shows an error, stop charging and check that the cell is inserted the right way and is not damaged.

Is the Pocket Case safe to leave plugged in?

Unplug it once charging is done: that is what the Pocket Case manual asks. Charging stops on its own when each cell is full, and the case has over-charge, over-current and short-circuit protection and detects faulty batteries. Charge between 0°C and 45°C, out of direct sunlight. The cells can stay in the closed case for storage and travel. UN 38.3 and IEC 62133-2 are cell standards, and they cover the SCIGOLD AA cells themselves.
